Epiphany, thanks to a generous donation, is blessed with a three-octave
set of Malmark handbells.
September
2007 starts our sixth year of ringing. Interest level has allowed
us to form two handbell choirs: a beginner level and a more advanced
group--the Joyful Noise Ringers and the Jubilate Ringers, respectively.
Our ringers range in age from young teens to past retirement.
Both groups
rehearse on Thursday nights and perform about once a month and on
festival occasions. Joyful Noise rehearse from 6:00- 6:45 pm;
Jubilate Ringers from 6:45 to about 8:00 pm.
Rehearsals include equal
parts laughter and concentration. You will be amazed at the variety
of sounds that bells (and ringers) can produce.
Because
real life occasionally takes our ringers away from rehearsals and/or
performances, we are always looking for additional people as full-time
or substitute ringers. No previous handbell experience is required,
but we do ask that you can read music.
For more
information about our handbell choirs, contact the
Director of Music Gordon Porth.
We are currently
raising money for a set of handchimes
which will add another dimenson to our music making! The total
cost is $835, if you would like to help us reach our goal, please
contact the director.
