Music at Epiphany

We're excited about our music program at Epiphany!

Music in our worship serves many purposes:

  • It sets or preserves the mood of the service.
  • It allows us to experience a deeper meaning of our worship text.
  • It creates an atmosphere that tends to harmonize us into one voice.
  • Singing involves our entire body and draws us more deeply into worship.
  • Participation in the making of music can be a tremendously joyful and rewarding experience.

Music at Epiphany includes:

  • organ or piano service accompaniment and performances
  • adult and youth voice choirs
  • handbell choirs
  • solo and ensemble vocalists
  • instrumental soloists and ensembles.

For more information on our choir programs, see the Handbells page or the Choirs page.

Occasional concert performances by our musical groups during the year, sometimes in conjunction with groups from other churches, are well attended and provide a exciting alternate format for our hard-working musicians.  These are held both in our church and as part of community events, such as collaborative evensong services and choral concerts with other choirs from around Rochester.

We encourage our parish musicians to stretch themselves as soloists at Prelude, Offertory or at Communition

at both Sunday and Festival services. Additional musicians are sometimes needed at festival services.

If you are interested contact the Director of Music for more information.
